Katy Perry, kissed a girl? Damn I should have been there!

I have been trying to put this song up for a while.  It’s been out for maybe a month, and it’s called “Kissed a Girl” by a new artist named Katy Perry.  Song is tough, (who doesn’t like the idea of it), and if you haven’t heard it, look for this song on your radio, it’s been constantly gaining spins. Aside from the great lyrics, she also held it down with the vocals; yea this girl has talent. O yea, she was the girl that was featured in the Gym Class Heroes song “Cupids Chokehold”.  4/5 rating.

Artist to watch for in 08′

IknowUknow we are in the midst of an era where artist development is gone, we are constantly seeing and hearing artist come and go. Albums are released consecutively without any anticipation of waiting for the next. It seems the days of the stable household artist may be long gone. Since 2002 there have only been a few new artist consistently releasing solid albums; generating longevity in the music game.  These artists include Kanye West, Lupe Fiasco, T.I., Young Jeezy, Lil Wayne (even though he’s been around but he reinvented himself), and Ludacris (even though he’s been around I put him with the new school artist). Besides the listed artist, are there any new ones whom aren’t duplicates, whom will also break the mold to last?

I present to you SB MUSIC/SRC/LOUD/UNIVERSAL newest artist Asher Roth. Upon first glance one would think he was a preppy frat boy who spent his weekends playing beer pong. But play a beat (instrumental) and the words that come out of his mouth will shock you. Yes his voice is similar to Eminem. Yes his sense of humor is crazy. Yes his style is completely different than what you will normally hear. Yes he is goofy and probably doesn’t take himself seriously. I wouldn’t be surprised if he didn’t take much seriously (music), but he kids got talent (peep the Sun God freestyle). Hopefully with more work (artist development) he will drop solid material. He’s something fresh in hip hop, and I will definitely be looking for him, as should you. He is a artist to watch for.

Possible Collaborations I would like to see- Redman, Kanye, Lupe, Outkast, Gym Class Heroes, and Lil Wayne.  Make these happen for the album.
